Model making
Models and prototypes are essential in the design process and is the most effective method to communicate our design thinking. Models transform our ideas into three dimensional realities and if a picture is worth a thousand words then a 3D object is surely worth many times more.
We use a range of techniques to produce and validate our design solutions, from card/foam models to accurate prototype parts in real or simulated materials.
Sketch models
Sketch models can bring ideas to life quickly and cheaply as a first point of reference. We use a wide variety of techniques to test concepts using card and foam to create surprisingly realistic forms.
Rapid prototypes
We use expert rapid prototyping bureau facilities to provide our SL parts, CNC masters, Vacuum casts and finishing processes.
This external resource ensures we can provide you with models that use the most suitable technology available. Our in house team will assemble and test these to ensure conformance to the design.
Product validation
During validation we use engineering prototypes to test and demonstrate the product is functionally right and worthy of the greater investment required for taking it into manufacture.
Market testing
Our customers will often wish to assess design solutions with their consumers and vacuum cast parts are often used to achieve short runs of product suitable for this purpose. Highly realistic models can be achieved and their cost is considered realistic for high volume products.
